Report: Raphael Guerreiro will probably leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer

Raphael Guerreiro is reportedly expected to leave Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer when his current contract with the club expires in the summer.
There has been plenty of speculation surrounding Raphael Guerreiro’s future at Borussia Dortmund in recent months. The left-back’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and chances are high that he will leave the club on a free transfer in the summer.
Ruhr Nachrichten are reporting they have heard from sources close to Guerreiro that it has already been decided his contract will not be extended beyond the end of the season. The newspaper adds that those at the club claim that a decision on the 28 year old’s future has not yet been made and talks over his future will take place in the coming months.
But the fact remains that Guerreiro’s contract is set to expire in just over six months, and soon he will be free to hold talks with other clubs ahead of a potential free transfer in the summer.
Raphael Guerreiro joined Borussia Dortmund after impressing at the European Championships in 2016. He has made a total of 206 appearances for the Black and Yellows and is currently the club’s first-choice left-back.
Guerreiro has always stated that he feels comfortable at Borussia Dortmund, and even said earlier this year that he would like to sign a contract extension with the club.
But it has been heavily reported that Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Ramy Bensebaini from Borussia Mönchengladbach, with his contract also set to expire at the end of the season. And Bensebaini’s arrival could mark the end of Guerreiro’s time at BVB.
