No release clause in Youssoufa Moukoko’s Borussia Dortmund contract
Youssoufa Moukoko’s new contract with Borussia Dortmund does not contain a release clause, according to reports in Germany.
After months of intense speculation about his future, Youssoufa Moukoko signed a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. The highly rated striker will stay at BVB at least until the end of the 2025/26 season. And according to BILD, his new contract with the Black and Yellows does not contain a release clause.
Moukoko’s original contract was due to expire at the end of the current season. The 18 year old received a number of lucrative offers, and the likes of Chelsea, FC Barcelona, Manchester United and Newcastle United were all in the race for his signature.
Newcastle United reportedly even offered him a signing bonus of 30 million euros and an annual salary of nine million euros. But he ultimately decided to stay at Borussia Dortmund, and said after signing his contract that he made the decision from his heart. Moukoko will reportedly earn a salary of six million euros per year at BVB.
Youssoufa Moukoko has already broken a number of records during his fledgling career so far with Borussia Dortmund. And an exciting new chapter now awaits the club and the striker as he looks to take the next steps in his development in the coming years.
Moukoko made his first-team debut for Borussia Dortmund just one day after his 16th birthday. He has made a total of 59 first-team appearances so far, and has 11 goals and eight assists to his name.
