Edin Terzic wants Borussia Dortmund to seize the initiative and bring the Bundesliga title back to the club after taking a two point lead at the top of the standings.

A date with destiny awaits Borussia Dortmund this weekend as they take on Mainz 05 on matchday 34 of the Bundesliga season. Win and the Black and Yellows will be crowned Bundesliga champions for the first time in 11 years. And Edin Terzic is determined to ensure that his players go full throttle in their bid to bring the Meisterschale back to the club.

In an interview with DAZN after Borussia Dortmund’s 3-0 win over FC Augsburg on Sunday, Terzic said that they must make the most of this opportunity by winning the Bundesliga title.

"“We have suffered and sweated a lot, not just this season. Now it is all about taking the final step together with our fans in our stadium and in our city to finally bring the championship trophy back to Dortmund.”“We are delighted to be in this position. You only have to look at the history of our club to see how many times we’ve been German champions. Now the chance is bigger than it has been for a long time. We have to sleep six more times, wake up, go full throttle, and then hopefully we can hold the Bundesliga trophy in our hands.”"

Borussia Dortmund showed their title credentials on Sunday by ending their woeful away run and earning a 3-0 win over FC Augsburg. After a frustrating first half, the BVB players stepped up and managed to claim the all important three points.

Sebastien Haller scored a brace and Julian Brandt was also on target, as BVB ensured that they took full advantage of Bayern’s defeat to RB Leipzig and moved to the top of the Bundesliga standings.
