Borussia Dortmund go up against Mainz 05 this weekend with the aim of ending their 11 year wait and winning the Bundesliga title.

The stage is set for the final game of the 2022/23 season and Borussia Dortmund are 90 minutes away from winning the Meisterschale. The Black and Yellows need a win against Mainz 05 to make history and lift the Bundesliga title. And Edin Terzic’s side will be determined to continue their blistering home form and get the job done this weekend.

Borussia Dortmund will be hoping for the return of Jude Bellingham, with the midfielder dealing with a knee injury. There is still hope in the BVB ranks that he will be able to make the squad on Saturday. But Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Mateu Morey, and Thomas Meunier are all expected to miss the home game against Mainz 05.

Here we take a look at how Borussia Dortmund could line up for their Bundesliga clash against Mainz 05 this weekend.

Gregor Kobel will start in goal for Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, looking to cap off what has been another excellent season for him.

Mats Hummels and Niklas Süle are likely to continue their partnership in defence after a string of strong performances. The former has especially been in inspired form in recent weeks. And he will be aiming to win the Bundesliga title for the third time in BVB colours this weekend.

Marius Wolf will likely keep his place at right-back, with Julian Ryerson expected to start on the opposite flank.

Emre Can will again start in defensive midfield after his impressive shift against Augsburg last weekend. Julian Brandt also seems to be finding his footing again and will start in the number eight role.

Raphael Guerreiro will likely complete Borussia Dortmund’s midfield trio if Jude Bellingham is unable to play from the start on Saturday. The Portuguese international has more assists than any other player in the Bundesliga this season. Marco Reus could also be an option after coming off the bench and impressing last weekend.

Borussia Dortmund’s front three will remain unchanged. Donyell Malen, Karim Adeyemi, and Sebastien Haller are all firing on all cylinders at the moment and will look to keep their excellent run of form going on the final day of the season.
