Thorgan Hazard could yet stay at Borussia Dortmund

Thorgan Hazard could still stay at Borussia Dortmund beyond the summer, with no concrete offers yet for the winger.
Thorgan Hazard’s future is uncertain at the moment, with multiple reports in Germany claiming that Borussia Dortmund are ready to sell him this summer. But according to La Dernière Heure, the 30 year old has not yet been told by the club that he is free to leave the club.
The report adds that Hazard has yet to receive any concrete offers, despite being linked with Belgian clubs Royal Antwerp and Club Brugge in recent weeks.
Hazard spent the second half of last season out on loan at PSV Eindhoven. But injuries meant that he wasn’t able to make the desired impact, and the Dutch side decided against signing him on a permanent transfer. The winger is back in Dortmund for pre-season, and has featured in both of BVB’s friendly matches so far.
The Belgian newspaper further claims that playing time and his family are the two factors that will play a key role in Hazard’s decision over his next club. Playing at next summer’s European Championships remains a goal for him. It is unlikely that Hazard will get too much playing time at Borussia Dortmund if he decides to stay at the club beyond the summer, with a number of players ahead of him in the pecking order.
Thorgan Hazard still has 12 months left on his current contract with Borussia Dortmund, having joined the club from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2019. He admitted last month that a move away from BVB is likely this summer.
