Edin Terzic has revealed that the injured Marcel Sabitzer could return to training with Borussia Dortmund as early as next week.
Marcel Sabitzer is currently sidelined with an adductor injury that he picked up during Borussia Dortmund’s UEFA Champions League group stage tie against Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.
The Austrian international missed last weekend’s home game against Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga, and will also be unavailable for the trip to TSG Hoffenheim on Friday. But Edin Terzic is hoping that Sabitzer can take the next step in his recovery next week by taking part in some parts of team training.
"During his pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Hoffenheim, Terzic said:“We hope that next week he will be able to take part in some parts of team training. Then we will see what is possible.”"
Borussia Dortmund will also likely have to make do without Marcel Sabitzer for their UEFA Champions League matchday two clash against AC Milan next week. It is possible that he could return to the squad for next weekend’s Bundesliga contest against Union Berlin. And the hope will be that he will be fully fit after next month’s international break.
Sabitzer has made six appearances for Borussia Dortmund since joining the club from Bayern Munich in the summer.
Edin Terzic also revealed during his press conference that Thomas Meunier and Mateu Morey are making good progress on their injury recoveries. He added that the two right-backs should be able to return to training either during the international break or immediately after.
