Expected Borussia Dortmund lineup vs AC Milan
By Brook Genene
Defenders: Julian Ryerson, Mats Hummels, Nico Schlotterbeck, Ramy Bensebaini
The man of the moment in Dortmund is Julian Ryerson after his incredible solo goal against Hoffenheim to seal the win. In addition to the goal, the Norwegian international has been performing consistently at the top level and is expected to keep his place at right-back.
Borussia Dortmund’s centre-back pair has done a good job in the last two games. Despite his mistake being the reason for Hoffenheim’s goal, Mats Hummels has performed at the highest level and is still a key player for the Black and Yellows.
Nico Schlotterbeck was vital in the build up to Julian Ryerson’s goal on Friday as he intervened to quell a dangerous Hoffenheim attack.
Perhaps the person who didn’t come out looking good after the Hoffenheim game was Ramy Bensebaini. The Algerian was sent off, forcing Borussia Dortmund to play the last 20+ minutes of the game with 10 men. His suspension will continue in the league but it is likely he will start against AC Milan.
