Borussia Dortmund said goodbye to one of their stalwarts this month as Julian Brandt departs the club following seven years of impeccable service.

The German international's contract with the club runs out in June 2026 and will be available on a free transfer thereafter.

While his future isn't sorted out yet, there are plenty of rumors surrounding it with reports linking him to a few clubs.

As the player figures out his next destination, here are three possible destinations for Brandt after Dortmund:

3) AS Roma

Just three weeks ago, it was reported that Roma have made contact with Brandt's entourage over a possible move to Stadio Olimpico. After qualifying for the Champions League, the Giallorossi are looking to reinforce their squad for next season as their midfield linchpin Paulo Dybala is on the brink of an exit.

Brandt is seen as a potential recruit in the Argentine's place as his playmaking abilities as well as an eye for goal make him somewhat similar to Dybala while he'd also link-up with his former Dortmund teammate Donyell Malen, who is currently spearheading the Roma squad.

2) Arsenal

Fresh off winning their first Premier League title in 22 years, Arsenal are be an appealing destination for every player under the sun right now including Brandt, who was rumored to be scouted as a rotational player as the star brings immense experience and versatility of being able to play across various positions in midfield and attack.

Under Mikel Arteta's tutelage, Brandt can be confident of finding his best version again as the Spaniard has cemented his position as one of the most astute tacticians in recent years. Plus, the allure of competing for trophies on multiple fronts also sounds incredibly tempting.

1) Atletico Madrid

The club that he most likely appears to join right now is Atletico Madrid, who saw their playmaking talisman Antoine Griezmann leave this season and the hunt for a replacement now begins. Brandt is also said to be interested in moving to LaLiga, which makes the transfer all the more ideal in this scenario.

The opportunity to play under Diego Simeone is one that is coveted by many and it could bring the best out of Brandt too. Like Griezmann, he too is technically gifted, drops deep to link up plays and is proficient in the air too, with his towering stature allowing him to dominate duels. Atletico would do an absolute coup de maître with Brandt signing.
