Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi is reportedly on Manchester United’s radar, according to Sky Germany

The talented forward is said to have had a fallout with BVB head coach Niko Kovac, which also appears to have stalled all talks of a contract extension at the club.

Signed from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg in 2022, Adeyemi has been a wonderful addition to Dortmund’s well-oiled attacking side, bringing his youthful flair and panache to inject more creativity going forward.

He’s having another productive season with Die Borussen in the 2025-26 campaign, netting three goals and assisting five more from 19 appearances in all competitions.

Man United could capitalise on Borussia Dortmund fallout

Adeyemi’s contract with the Signal Iduna Park outfit runs until 2027, but could be set for a new pasture soon. On 25 October, he was seen tossing a water bottle at Dortmund’s bench in a fit of rage after getting substituted in their 1-0 win over FC Koln in the Bundesliga.

His actions drew public condemnation from Kovac while the manager addressed the media after the match, causing their relationship to soar.

Now, with his future uncertain, reports of links to Manchester United are doing the rounds. The Red Devils have been alerted of his situation and continue to monitor any progress made in his contractual talks with Dortmund.

Reports also suggest that Adeyemi and his agent Jorge Mendes, who has an excellent relationship with the Premier League giants and facilitated moves for Leny Yoro and Manuel Ugarte, are looking to include a release clause in the contract too.

Only 23 years of age, Adeyemi is currently valued at a staggering £70 million. His attacking proficiency and distribution skills coupled with the ability to play across the frontline make him a desirable prospect in any set-up.

Interestingly, the player was in Manchester recently as Dortmund visited the Etihad stadium on 6 November for a Champions League clash with Manchester City, who beat them 4-1. But Adeyemi was among the few bright spots for the visitors, biting at the heels of City’s defenders to make some excellent recoveries while also creating one chance in the match.

Born in Munich, the Germany international is also among the fastest players ever in the Bundesliga. He once clocked 22.77mph during a league game against Freiburg in the 2022-23 season, a sprint that eventually led to a goal too. Adeyemi’s brisk pace would bring a lot of momentum to Manchester United’s offensive vanguard that already features Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.
