Borussia Dortmund welcome Eintracht Frankfurt to Signal Iduna Park on Saturday for matchday seven in the 2026-27 Bundesliga season.
The BVB have been through a rough patch post the international break and are looking to build on their midweek Champions League win to regain momentum in their league too.
But first, here are three Eintracht Frankfurt players that Dortmund must keep in check during the clash:
1) Younes Ebnoutalib
Only three players have found the back of the net for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga so far this season, of whom Younes Ebnoutalib has been the most prolific with five goals. That's 50% of what the Eagles have managed to score in the competition right now, highlighting his value in the side.
Signed from Elversberg in January this year, the 23-year-old struggled to adapt to life in Frankfurt but has managed to unlock his offensive best in the new campaign. In fact, he began with a sensational hat-trick in the 3-3 draw against Union Berlin on the opening day.
Blessed with electric pace and devastating finishing skills, Ebnoutalib can be a menace inside the penalty box if given enough time and space on the ball. Dortmund's centre-backs will have to keep a weather eye on his movements and cut off all avenues to receive a pass.
2) Robin Koch
Robin Koch has been Frankfurt's most accomplished passer with a success rate of 90.71, and the fact that he's a centre-back tells you just how crucial Koch is to building from the back. He's also registered an assist in the Bundesliga this season, teeing up Jonathan Burkardt in their 2-2 draw with Freiburg.
The German isn't there to merely defend, he's crucial to keeping the ball in circulation and even initiate attacking plays: in their 1-0 win over FC Koln last weekend, Koch completed all five attempted long balls. If the BVB can keep him quiet, they can keep Frankfurt quiet.
3) Can Uzun
Another important component of Frankfurt's attacking structure is Can Uzun, who has scored four goals and made three assists from six appearances in all competitions. But he leads the squad in terms of chances created in the Bundesliga this season with 15, averaging 3.3 per 90 minutes.
The Turkish starlet excels at making line-breaking passes, while his 1.32 xA indicates some of them could have reasonably led to goals too had his teammates produced better finishing. One of Frankfurt's most dangerous creative outlets, Dortmund must ensure Uzun doesn't have enough space to make forward passes or get into dangerous attacking positions.
