Borussia Dortmund close out a rollicking 2025-26 Bundesliga season tomorrow as they visit the Weser Stadium to face Werder Bremen on the final matchday.

With the silver medal assured and Champions League spot also sealed, the BVB are aiming to finish with 73 points as a seven-year high statistic beckons.

Niko Kovac, following a promising first few months towards the end of last term, has proved his mettle in what has been his first full season in-charge of the club.

It wasn't always pretty, with the Croatian getting his fare share of criticisms at various points this season, but it was still a good run nontheless, solidifying his status as one of the most astute managers.

Dortmund bolstered by return of two midfielders for Bremen trip

Speaking of some team news ahead of the last Bundesliga game of the season, Borussia Dortmund have been bolstered by the return of Marcel Sabizter and the outgoing Julian Brandt.

The German international played his last match in front of the home crowd last weekend and will now make his swansong appearance tomorrow in his city of birth.

It's a major boost for the visitors, as Kovac can call upon both to feature in the starting XI as Die Borussen are taking no chances in their pursuit of a final day victory.

Karim Adeyemi, Niklas Sule and Felix Nmecha also returned to the fold from their respective injury issues last weekend and could feature on Saturday too.

Skipper and long-term absentee Emre Can as well as Ramy Bensebaini are the only players sidelined. While the former has been missing in action for over three months now, Bensebaini succumbed to a foot injury in their 4-0 win over Freiburg a few weeks ago.

It has even plunged his World Cup pariticipation in doubt with the Algerian national team not naming the defender in their preliminary squad that was announced this week, although Bensebaini could still make it if he recovers before 1 June, the deadline for all pariticpating teams to name their final squad for the north American showpiece.

Rising star Samuele Inacio could be rewarded for his heroics in the Eintracht Frankfurt victory with another start, his second in a row, while Serhou Guirassy should keep his place upfront ahead of Fabio Silva.

Dortmund predicted XI

Here's how the BVB could line up for the final matchday: Gregor Kobel, Luca Reggiani, Waldemar Anton, Nico Schlotterbeck, Julian Ryerson, Marcel Sabitzer, Jobe Bellingham, Maximilian Bayer, Julian Brandt, Samuele Inacio, Serhou Guirassy.
