Just last week, Borussia Dortmund ambushed the Belgian Pro League and priced away one of its most promising young talents in Konstantinos Karetsas for the club's second highest fee of 30 million euros.
The 18-year-old made his BVB debut last weekend against Premier League champions Arsenal and struck inside 29 minutes of the clash, curling a delightful shot into the bottom corner after running half the length of the pitch.
As the fans are still coming to grips with their latest signing and his explosive debut, Borussia Dortmund are already gearing up to make another raid on the Belgian top-flight.
According to Bulinews, sources close to Fussbaldaten.de have reported that Niko Kovac's side are currently pursuing Club Brugge star Carlos Forbs.
Dortmund's league rivals Bayer Leverkusen are said to be in the race too.
Who is Carlos Forbs?
A product of Manchester City's youth academy, Forbs joined Club Brugge last year from Ajax and played an instrumental role in helping them win the Belgian Pro League while netting 10 times in all competitions and bagging another 12 assists.
He was also on target in Brugge's opening game of the 2026-27 league season against KV Kortrijk on Saturday, firing in the 68th minute of their 3-0 victory to continue from where he left off last term.
Which are the interested parties?
Bulinews further reported that Carlos Forbs currently makes the cut into the transfer wishlist for LaLiga giants Atletico Madrid as well as Serie A club Fiorentina.
Turkish league, which has rose to prominence in recent times with some marquee signings, also has a few potential suitors who are closely monitoring his situation right now.
Dortmund, of course, are in the race too but clearly won't have it easy with so many interested parties. But as Karetsas snubbed the same from other leagues, they'd be hoping for Forbs to follow suit too.
How much is Club Brugge demanding?
With such fierce competition for his signatures, Club Brugge don't want to lose their star forward for a paltry sum. The club's management reportedly wants to capitalize on the fanfare and have set a price of 30 million euros.
The Portuguese forward is only 22-year-old while his contract with the Blue-Blacks runs until June 2029, which gives the Belgian champions significant leverage over negotiations and aren't said to listen to offers below the said figure.
Now the question on every fan's mind is, would Dortmund be willing to spend another €30million in the same transfer window?
