Just when it seemed like Borussia Dortmund have made an adequate number of signings in the transfer market, an injury to Giannis Konstantelias has forced them to make one more.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the BVB have reached an agreement to sign Arsenal's out-of-favor midfielder Ethan Nwaneri on a season-long loan.
The 19-year-old hadn't played a single minute of their campaign so far and had been linked with an exit from the Emirates Stadium after falling behind the pecking order under Mikel Arteta.

What's the deal?
According to Romano and Sky Germany, Nwaneri will be joining Dortmund on loan for the entirety of the 2026-27 season.
How much is the move worth?
The loan fee is reportedly at around €5 million and Die Borussen will cover his entire salary for the year.
Is there an obligation to buy?
No, the loan doesn't involve any obligation for Dortmund to buy him permanently nor has been any such option agreed.
Why Dortmund moved for Nwaneri?
Giannis Konstantelias suffered a torn ACL during BVB's league opener against Hamburg on Saturday that is set to sideline him for months.
In order to fill up the void in the attacking midfield role, Ethan Nwaneri was signed on deadline day as a temporary replacement for the Greek youngster.
Have they pursued him before?
This isn't the first time that Dortmund had been linked with Nwaneri. According to Sky, the club was interested in him last summer too and for a permanent transfer, at that.
However, an agreement wasn't reached with Arsenal despite the player reportedly keen to join the Bundesliga giants. He instead joined French side Marseille in January this year.
Who is Ethan Nwaneri?
Coming through Arsenal's youth side, Ethan Nwaneri shot to fame for becoming the youngest ever debutant in the Premier League at just 15 years and 181 days after coming off the bench in their league clash against Brentford on 18 September 2022.
An attacking midfielder by trade, he remained a substitute for the Gunners in the Premier League but started many of their cup games. Nwaneri has also represented England's youth sides at various levels, including the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
