Borussia Dortmund face VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga on Saturday as the club aims to continue their winning run in the competition.
With 61 points from 27 games, the Black and Yellows are currently in second place of the league standings and edging closer to booking their place in the Champions League.
But Niko Kovac's side are facing a potential banana skin here as Die Roten have ruffled their feathers on many occasions in recent times.
Here's how the sides fared in their last five clashes:
Stuttgart 2-0 Dortmund (DFB Pokal, December 2023)
The sides meet in the German Cup only once in a while, but in their seventh and the last one, Stuttgart ended Dortmund's march in the quarter-finals with a 2-0 win.
Serhou Guirassy, who was still at Stuttgart at the time, struck the opening goal 10 minutes into the second half before Silas Mvumpa doubled their advantage.
Dortmund 0-1 Stuttgart (Bundesliga, April 2024)
Stuttgart completed a hat-trick of wins over Dortmund in the 2023-24 season with a 1-0 victory at the Signal Iduna Park, which also brought up a rare league double for them in the fixture.
Guirassy came back to haunt his future side, netting the only goal of the game in the 64th minute as Stuttgart had also beaten them 2-1 earlier that season in the Bundesliga.
Stuttgart 5-1 Dortmund (Bundesliga, September 2024)
By this point, Guirassy had jumped ships to Dortmund (and was making his first visit back to the MHP Arena since the transfer). Still, Stuttgart had no issues dispatching the BVB.
Ironically, without the Guinean, the Reds posted an even bigger win as they put five past the Black and Yellows in an absolute rout. Guirassy's returning goal went in vain.
Dortmund 1-2 Stuttgart (Bundesliga, February 2025)
Stuttgart continued their dominance over Dortmund with a league double for the second consecutive season here after winning at the Westfalonstadion again.
Following a cagey opening stanza, an own goal from Waldemar Anton put the visitors in front at the 50th minute while Julian Chabot made it 2-0 shortly after.
Julian Brandt pulled one back in the dying embers to give Dortmund hope, but they fell short of finding the elusive equalizer that would have earned them a point.
Dortmund 3-3 Stuttgart (Bundesliga, November 2025)
This has to be one of their best clashes in modern history. For a while, it seemed like Dortmund are finally ending the jinx and beating Stuttgart again after racing to a 2-0 lead before the break.
However, Deniz Undav brought Die Roten level with a double. Karim Adeyemi then restored the home side's advantage in the 89th minute which supposedly had won them the game.
But Undav cut their celebrations short with another equalizer in the first minute of stoppage-time to make it 3-3, while bringing up his hat-trick too.
