Borussia Dortmund's Samuele Inacio is a hot commodity in the transfer market. Although the summer transfer window has closed, he's still pursued by two of Italy's giants, Juventus and Inter Milan.
According to Calcio Mercato journalist Emanuele Tramacere, both the Serie A outfits have apparently set out similar transfer plans that involve roping in Italian talents, which include Inacio.
A product of Bergamo, he later moved to Germany to continue his development and got his first taste of senior football last season before breaking into Italy's national team too.
Inacio's rapid and meteoric rise in Dortmund also led to a new contract offer until June 2029, a clear signal that the club also sees him as an integral part of their future.
He also began the new season looking determined to make a mark on the squad until a red card in the opening game threatened to derail his season.
Inacio's qualities were there for all to see when he struck a brace in their DFB Pokal clash against HEBC earlier this month, his first time scoring twice in a game.
Tuttosport reveals that Juventus have already made a serious inquiry for the 18-year-old, asking his new agent Edoardo Crnjar for more details on his situation. However, negotiations haven't begun yet.
Inter Milan, the reigning Serie A champions, are looking to add more local talents under Dario Baccin, and will be hoping for better fortunes after unsuccessful attempts at plucking Inacio off BVB.
The Nerazzurri reportedly are on the look out for a new (and preferably young) second striker, who excels in one-on-one situations, boasts a fearsome attacking skillset and is Italian too.
Should Dortmund sell Inacio?
The interests in Inacio from two of Italy's biggest sides are a testament to his immense potential. But the bigger question is, should Borussia Dortmund sell him?
Despite Juve and Inter having the player on their radar, there's no mention of a permanent transfer anywhere, so a loan move could also be on the table.
In that case, sending Inacio off to a challenging league such as the Italian Serie A for experience and growth doesn't seem like a bad idea.
But considering the promise he's shown in Dortmund colors so far, there's every reason to believe the attacker could develop into a serious prospect in the near future.
The club would be wise to give him enough chances to realize that potential first before jumping to the decision of getting him off the books permanently.
