Former Borussia Dortmund ace Julian Brandt is reportedly pursued by Leeds United and Ajax right now, as both clubs are said to have submitted formal offers for him.
The German has been a free agent since the start of this month as his contract with the BVB oficially ended on 30 June, having bid farewell to Signal Iduna Park after seven years.
He is currently free to negotiate with interested clubs and latest reports suggest there are two that have emerged as the frontrunners for him.
Brandt eyeing Leeds United move
As Leeds United gear up for a Premier League return, the club is busy strengthening its squad with new signings. So far, Harry Wilson has joined on a free transfer after leaving Fulham while Tarik Muharemovic was roped in from Sassuolo.
The Peacocks aren't done yet and have been linked with Brandt, who is keen on a move to Elland Road too as the prospect of playing in the Premier League seems to appeal him. According to Sky Germany, the player is expected to visit Leeds along with his father and advisor Jurgen Brandt at the beginning of next month for talks with the English side.
Ajax in the race too
Dutch giants Ajax have also reportedly entered the race for Julian Brandt as de Godenzonen are looking to add a proven quantity within their ranks who can bolster their attacking vanguard with his creative instincts.
So far, the record Eredivisie champions have signed Caio Henrique from AS Monaco for €14million, Marcos Leonardo from Al-Hilal for almost €20million and Daley Blind on a free transfer. With Brandt also available on a Bosman, Ajax would be pulling off a real coup here if they are able to sign him up.
Serie A move also considered but no offers yet
Another place that Brandt is reportedly open to moving is the Italian Serie A. But with no real offer coming up so far, the prospect of a transfer materializing is fading with each passing week. The German international was previously linked to AS Roma, with journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reporting earlier this month that the Rossoneri are interested in bringing him to Rome.
But those reports have since cooled off, partly due to the club growing apprehensive about him being able to fit inside manager Gian Piero Gasperini's tactical system despite the AS Roma management reacting to the links rather positively.
