Borussia Dortmund legend Marco Reus has urged Jadon Sancho to return to the club as the player has been linked with a move back to Signal Iduna Park lately.

Sancho is currently on loan at Aston Villa, where manager Unai Emery revealed he's open to signing him on a permanent deal this summer although the club's official stance isn't clear yet.

But with his parent club Manchester United keen to cut their losses with him and sell the Englishman, Sancho's future has been the subject of speculation lately.

Among the clubs that have emerged as his next potential destination for the 25-year-old is his former side Dortmund, where he enjoyed a four-year spell from 2017 to 2021.

Sancho had returned to Signal Iduna Park for a brief loan spell in 2024 but offered no great shakes, prompting the club to let him go back to Manchester United.

However, there could be a third spell on the cards as Sancho is heavily linked with a return. Now, their former skipper Marco Reus has urged the playmaker to return.

According to SPORT BILD, he was quoted:

""My main advice to Jadon is to look around and see where he can feel at home again and get back to his best. And if that turns out to be at BVB, it would be good for him and for Dortmund.""
said Reus

Reus played four seasons with Sancho from 2017 until his departure in 2021, during which time the pair enjoyed a productive working relationship and linked up to devastating effect on the field.

Reflecting back upon those days, the former German international added:

""I’ve rarely played alongside a player who made such good decisions instinctively and in tight situations. He was sometimes quiet and introverted, but despite that, he always radiated a good mood.""
said Reus

During those four years, Sancho scored 53 goals and assisted another 67 from 158 appearances as he emerged as one of the best young attackers. But according to Reus, he was much more than just the stats.

""Apart from his assists and goals, he knows what the game needs and what his teammates need. He’s a player who draws two or three opponents towards him and can judge exactly when he needs to involve his teammates at the right moment.""
added Reus

Since leaving Dortmund though, Sancho has experienced a dramatic decline in form, netting just 21 goals over the last five years across four different sides as he's struggled to hit those dizzy heights again.
