AC Milan eyeing 15-goal Borussia Dortmund striker

Borussia Dortmund may have to fend off interest from AC Milan if they want to keep star striker Niclas Füllkrug at the club beyond the summer transfer window.
On the back of his impressive performances for Germany at the European Championship, Niclas Füllkrug is said to be attracting the interest of AC Milan. This is being reported by Sky Sport, who add that the Italian giants have Füllkrug on their radar.
The future of Füllkrug was put into doubt due to Borussia Dortmund's decision to sign Serhou Guirassy from VfB Stuttgart. The report further claims that Milan have already made an initial approach with the management of the Germany international, who is relaxed about his future at the moment.
Borussia Dortmund want Füllkrug to stay at the club and compete with Guirassy for a spot in the starting XI next season. Nuri Sahin also has Sebastien Haller and Youssoufa Moukoko in his squad, but both are said to be free to leave this summer.
Niclas Füllkrug scored 16 goals in first season with Borussia Dortmund
Niclas Füllkrug enjoyed a solid debut season with Borussia Dortmund, scoring 15 goals and assisting a further ten across all competitions. Following his move from Werder Bremen, he quickly established himself as BVB's first-choice striker and helped the team reach the Champions League final.
The 31 year old followed that up by scoring twice for Germany at Euro 2024. He was primarily used off the bench by Julian Nagelsmann, but still managed to make a big impact.
It remains to be seen how serious Milan's interest is in signing Füllkrug, and whether the striker would be interested in making the switch to Italy. VfB Stuttgart have also been linked with a move for Füllkrug, who has two years left on his current Borussia Dortmund contract.
