An acid test awaits Borussia Dortmund this weekend as they make the trip to the Allianz Arena with the hopes of finally taking down Bayern Munich.

The season is approaching make or break territory for Borussia Dortmund, who face a grueling battle to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League. Edin Terzic's side will get the business end of their season underway with a trip to Bayern Munich, who have a fair few issues of their own to deal with heading into the game.

Borussia Dortmund's recent record in Germany's biggest fixture makes for grim reading. The Black and Yellows have tasted defeats on their last eight visits to Bayern Munich, and their last Der Klassiker win in the Bundesliga came all the way back in 2016.

But Borussia Dortmund have developed a knack of winning games without playing proactive football this season. And with Bayern Munich not enjoying the best of seasons in the Bundesliga, BVB will have the opportunity to put an end to their faint title hopes on Saturday.

Thomas Tuchel's side have a few injury issues ahead of the game, with Manuel Neuer, Raphael Guerreiro and Aleksandar Pavlovic expected to miss out and Sacha Boey also sidelined. But Harry Kane is set to feature.

Borussia Dortmund will be without the suspended Marcel Sabitzer, and the injured Ramy Bensebaini. Gregor Kobel (illness) and Donyell Malen (thigh injury) are also out, but Jadon Sancho and Sebastien Haller are fit to feature. Felix Nmecha could come into the starting XI for Sabitzer, while the in-form Donyell Malen will be crucial in attack.
