The Borussia Dortmund bosses are seemingly in no rush to make a decision on Edin Terzic's future, with a final call not expected till the start of next season.

Edin Terzic remains a contentious figure among Borussia Dortmund fans, but played a key role in the club's run to the Champions League final this season. The Black and Yellows' performances in the Bundesliga left a lot to be desired, though, and those in charge are hoping to see further improvements before finalising the 41 year old's future.

According to BILD, the Borussia Dortmund bosses are planning to pay close attention to the team's start to next season before making a decision on whether or not Terzic should be handed a new contract. The BVB head coach's current contract is set to expire at the end of next season, and he is said to be attracting the interest of clubs from England.

Terzic grew up supporting Borussia Dortmund and said recently that he will be at Borussia Dortmund for as long as the club wants.

Terzic has a close relationship with outgoing BVB CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke. And newly appointed CEO of sports Lars Ricken also spoke about his special relationship with Terzic last month. So barring a poor start to next season, the likelihood of him getting a contract extension remains very high.

Borussia Dortmund narrowly missed out on winning the Bundesliga title during Edin Terzic's first season as permanent head coach, and lost the Champions League final this year. The hope will be that after two years of disappointing finales, Terzic can lead the team to success in the coming campaign.
