Borussia Dortmund have announced that the signing of Serhou Guirassy has been put on ice after a previously suffered injury was discovered during his medical tests.
Serhou Guirassy was all set to join Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, but the move has now been put into slight doubt. The Black and Yellows have revealed that during the 28 year old's medical examination, it was discovered that he was carrying a previously suffered injury.
Further investigation is needed on the injury and the impending transfer of Guirassy to Borussia Dortmund has thus not been made official just yet,
Borussia Dortmund were all set to pay the 18 million euros release clause in Guirassy's contract with VfB Stuttgart for his signature. And he was set to begin training with his new teammates on Thursday. However, it remains to be seen if and when the move will go through now.
The hope at the club will certainly be that the injury is not a very serious one, and the transfer can be made official in the coming days. Despite the hiccup, BILD expect the deal to eventually go through. According to the tabloid, an injury suffered by Guirassy while playing for Guinea has not fully healed. And that is why, those in charge at BVB decided to get a second opinion.
Serhou Guirassy is coming off an excellent season with VfB Stuttgart, and scored 30 goals in just 30 appearances as the Swabians finished second in the Bundesliga. A number of big clubs were in the race to sign the towering striker, including Arsenal and AC Milan. But he decided to make the switch to Borussia Dortmund.
