With Niclas Füllkrug on his way to West Ham United, Borussia Dortmund have set their sights on a move for TSG Hoffenheim's Maximilian Beier.
Borussia Dortmund will intesify their efforts to sign a new striker with Niclas Füllkrug (West Ham United) and Youssoufa Moukoko (Olympique Marseille) about to leave the club, and Sebastien Haller also free to exit this summer. Reports in Germany claim that the Black and Yellows have three names on their list of target, with Maximilian Beier emerging as a top candidate.
Maximilian Beier is wanted by Bayer Leverkusen, Chelsea, and Aston Villa
The TSG Hoffenheim striker enjoyed a breakout campaign in the Bundesliga last season, scoring 16 goals in 33 appearances Bundesliga appearances. Beier's performances have seen him attract the interest of the likes of Bayer Leverkusen, Chelsea, and Aston Villa.
So Borussia Dortmund will have to move quickly if they are serious about their interest in the Germany international. No concrete talks have been taken place as of yet.
According to Kicker, Beier had a release clause of 30 million euros in his contract, which expired at the end of June. A fee in the 25-30 million euros would likely be enough to tempt Hoffenheim into selling the 21 year old this summer.
With a classic number nine already in their ranks in Serhou Guirassy, Borussia Dortmund are reportedly on the lookout for a versatile striker who is capable of playing in a variety of different roles. Beier would certainly fit the bill, as he often plays in a two-striker formation for Hoffenheim. He is also capable of playing out wide, and is regarded as one of Germany's most talented young forwards.
