Borussia Dortmund vs Paris Saint-Germain: UEFA Champions League team news, preview
By Tushar Bahl
Things have not gone according to plan for Borussia Dortmund since they secured their place in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 with an impressive win over AC Milan two weeks ago. Two defeats and one draw have left the Black and Yellows out of the DFB-Pokal and in a precarious position in the Bundesliga.
Next up for Borussia Dortmund is a home game against Paris Saint-Germain, who are yet to qualify for the round of 16. Edin Terzic's side only need a draw on Wednesday to finish top in Group F, but defeat to PSG would see them drop to second place.
Borussia Dortmund's threadbare squad will be put through a stern test against PSG. In addition to the already sidelined Julian Ryerson, Felix Nmecha and Youssoufa Moukoko, Emre Can is suspended and Thomas Meunier is not part of the Champions League squad.
Marcel Sabitzer and Marius Wolf are both injury doubts ahead of Wednesday. So Terzic could be set for another major selection headache. Niklas Süle is in line to start at right-back, while Karim Adeyemi could return to the starting XI.
PSG will be without the suspended Ousmane Dembele. While Nuno Mendes is sidelined and Presnel Kimpembe is on the comeback trail after recovering from a ruptured achilles tendon.
Kylian Mbappe and Achraf Hakimi were the difference makers as PSG claimed a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund when the two sides last met on matchday one. They will be crucial again on Wednesday, while Randal Kolo Muani will also hope to impress on his return to Germany.
