Jadon Sancho's miserable spell at Manchester United is about to come to an end, with the Borussia Dortmund target set to join Chelsea on a loan deal with an obligation to buy.

Multiple reports claim that Jadon Sancho will join Chelsea after they reached an agreement with Manchester United on an initial loan deal with an obligation to make the signing permanent at the end of the season. The 24 year old was determined to leave Manchester United and was left out of the squad for their opening two English Premier League matches of the season.

Borussia Dortmund were also interested in bringing Sancho back to the club, but were priced out of a move for the forward. Sancho spent the second half of last season on loan at BVB, but is now set to join Chelsea on a long-term contract.

Sancho joined Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for a big-money fee but wasn't able to make the desired impact. A dispute with manager Erik ten Hag last year then saw him get suspended from the first-team before BVB brought him to the Westfalenstadion on a loan deal in January.

While the Englishman showed glimpses of his talent during his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, Sebastian Kehl and co. decided against pursuing a permanent move for him due to the high cost of a potential deal.

Juventus and Chelsea were interested in signing Sancho, and the Premier League side has now won the race on transfer deadline day.

Jadon Sancho will hope to find his form at Chelsea and showcase the talent and quality that saw him emerge as one of the most exciting young forwards in Europe during his first spell at Borussia Dortmund.
