Borussia Dortmund vs VfB Stuttgart: Bundesliga Team News, Preview
By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund will hope to stop the high-flying VfB Stuttgart in their tracks when the two sides collide in the Bundesliga this weekend.
After finally putting an end to their barren run against Bayern Munich by claiming a historic win at the Allianz Arena last weekend, Borussia Dortmund face another tough test on Saturday against third-placed VfB Stuttgart. The Swabians look primed for a spot in next season's UEFA Champions League, and have already beaten Edin Terzic's side twice this season.
The Black and Yellows will be full of confidence heading into Saturday's game. And with the gap to Stuttgart now just four points, they will be eyeing a third place finish in the Bundesliga this season.
Borussia Dortmund look set to finally welcome Gregor Kobel back into the squad after the Swiss shot-stopper had to miss the trip to Munich due to illness. Marcel Sabitzer will also return to the squad after his yellow card suspension. Donyell Malen is a doubt due to muscular problems, while Ramy Bensebaini remains out.
Stuttgart will be relying on their strike duo of Serhou Guirassy and Deniz Undav to come up with the goods once again. Both strikers were on the score-sheet in the reverse fixture, as Sebastian Hoeneß's side came out on top 2-1.
Stuttgart will have to make do without the suspended Waldemar Anton, as well as the injured Dan-Axel Zagadou, Nikolas Nartey and Anthony Rouault on Saturday. Former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud will hope to play from the start for the second weekend running.
