Borussia Dortmund are set to complete the signing of Yan Couto, with the right-back expected to join from Manchester City on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy.

Yan Couto will bolster Borussia Dortmund's full-back ranks that were depleted following the exits of Ian Maatsen, Marius Wolf, and Mateu Morey. The Brazilian international is regarded as one of the world's most talented young right-backs, and will look to continue his development at BVB.

The 22 year old will join Borussia Dortmund on the back of an excellent loan spell with Girona. Couto helped Girona surpass all expectations and qualify for the UEFA Champions League, scoring one goal and assisting a further ten in 34 La Liga appearances.

Couto's performances for Girona have now helped him earn a move to Borussia Dortmund, where he will compete with Julian Ryerson for a spot in the starting XI at right-back.

Final details of Yan Couto's transfer from Manchester City to Borussia Dortmund

Yan Couto will move to Borussia Dortmund on an initial loan deal, according to multiple reports in Germany. But an obligation to make the signing permanent is included in the deal. The Black and Yellows will have to pay a transfer fee of 25 million euros to sign the right-back on a permanent transfer.

Couto will put pen to paper on a five-year contract with Borussia Dortmund, and will head to the first-team's training camp in Switzerland to complete the move.

Following in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Couto will become the fourth young player to join Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City in recent years.
