Yan Couto is on the verge of joining Borussia Dortmund, and a transfer for the Manchester City right-back could be completed next week.
Borussia Dortmund are set to secure the signing of Yan Couto for a fee less than 30 million euros.According to Fabrizio Romano, the transfer fee for the talented right-back will be around 25 million euros, with add-ons included. If everything goes according to plan, Couto will undergo his medical tests with BVB next week before signing for the club.
With the Black and Yellows looking to bolster their right-back ranks this summer, Couto quickly emerged as the club's top target. He is coming off an impressive season on loan with Girona, and is keen to leave Manchester City this summer.
Yan Couto registered two goals and ten assists for Girona last season
Couto is eager to join Borussia Dortmund, and already has an agreement in place on personal terms with the club. He is set to compete with Julian Ryerson for a spot in the BVB starting XI. The 22 year old is regarded as one of the most exciting young right-backs in the world, and is known for his attack-minded approach.
If the transfer goes through, Couto will become Borussia Dortmund's third signing of the summer transfer window. Sebastian Kehl and co. are also keen to get the signing of Pascal Groß from Brighton & Hove Albion over the line, and could also pursue a move for Lyon attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki if they are able to sell players to free up some funds.
