Jamie Bynoe-Gittens was full of praise of Jadon Sancho, saying that he learned a lot from the forward during their six months together at Borussia Dortmund.
Regarded as one of the most talented young players at Borussia Dortmund, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is hoping for a breakout campaign in the Bundesliga this season. The Englishman has shown glimpses of his quality over the last two seasons, and will now have his sights set on becoming a regular starter for BVB.
Bynoe-Gittens showcased his talent on Wednesday with a beautifully taken goal during Borussia Dortmund's 3-2 pre-season friendly win over Cerezo Osaka. After the game, the 19 year old spoke about what he learned from Jadon Sancho when the Manchester United star was on loan at BVB during the second half of last season.
"I've learned a lot from Jadon," Bynoe-Gittens said (via WAZ). "For example, that I have to play with one or two touches more often, that I have to offer deeper runs more often. And when he plays, he enjoys himself. I've learned that too. Jadon is a friend."
Borussia Dortmund wanted to sign Sancho permanently this summer, but have seemingly been priced out of a move for the 24 year old. He could now be set to stay at Manchester United.
Bynoe-Gittens followed in the footsteps of Sancho and joined Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City at a very young age. He broke into the first-team two years ago, and has made a total of 58 appearances for the club, scoring five goals and assisting a further nine. The winger signed a contract extension with the Black and Yellows last year, and will look to continue his impressive development in the coming months.
