Karim Adeyemi says that he is feeling full of confidence after his stunning goalscoring form continued during Borussia Dortmund's 4-2 win against Heidenheim on Friday.

Borussia Dortmund maintained their unbeaten start to the season on Friday evening by earning a 4-2 win over Heidenheim. The win was spearheaded by two goals and one assist from Karim Adeyemi, who appears to be in sublime form at the moment.

Adeyemi went into the game on the back of five goals in just two appearances for the Germany U-21s during the international break. The 22 year old netted a brace against Israel before scoring a hat-trick against Estonia in Euro U-21 qualifiers. And he followed that up with an assist for Donyell Malen for Borussia Dortmund's opener on Friday, before scoring twice.

Karim Adeyemi hoping to keep the momentum flowing

After the game, Adeyemi spoke about the self-confidence he gained from playing for the Germany U-21s during the international break. "My self-confidence. I got a lot of it in the U21s and showed what I can do. So I have no need to hide. It's all about self-confidence for me. That's why I'm very happy that I did well."

"I was actually hoping to score a third. But I'm very happy about the two goals and even happier about the three points. That's why I can't complain."

Adeyemi's return to form came at the perfect time for Borussia Dortmund, as Nuri Sahin's side had found goals hard to come by in the first two matches of the Bundesliga season.

The forward now hopes to continue his stunning run and force his way into Julian Nagelsmann's plans. "We say ‘Inshallah’. That means hopefully," he said on DAZN.

Karim Adeyemi and Borussia Dortmund will next be in UEFA Champions League action as they travel to Belgium to face Club Brugge on Wednesday.
