Nuri Sahin is delighted to have Serhou Guirassy fit again with the striker set to make his Borussia Dortmund debut on Friday.

After an extended wait due to a knee injury suffered in June, Serhou Guirassy is finally about to make his Borussia Dortmund debut on Friday. And Nuri Sahin is looking forward to having the striker in the BVB squad for the first time.

Serhou Guirassy set for long-awaited Borussia Dortmund debut

During Wednesday's pre-match press conference, the BVB head coach gave an update on Guirassy and said that he is all set to make his Bundesliga debut on Friday. "He has made an excellent impression in training," Sahin said. "There is no handbrake anymore. He conducts himself like a top player. Whether he'll be in the starting XI or bench: we'll have to see. We still have two more training sessions to go."

Borussia Dortmund signed Guirassy on the back of his excellent season with VfB Stuttgart that saw him score 30 goals in just 30 appearances across all competitions.

A knee injury suffered on international duty delayed the 28 year old's start to life at BVB. But he is now fully fit again and will be in the squad as the Black and Yellows go up against the in-form FC Heidenheim in the Bundesliga on Friday.

Having Serhou Guirassy fully fit will be a big boost for Borussia Dortmund as they look to make a strong start to the season and keep pace with their Bundesliga title rivals. BVB failed to score against Werder Bremen on matchday two, and Guirassy's goalscoring prowess and movement will certainly be crucial to the team's title hopes.
