Predicted Borussia Dortmund lineup for Wolfsburg clash

The in-form Borussia Dortmund will face the challenge of the struggling VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga this weekend.

Their goalless draw against Heidenheim aside, Borussia Dortmund have enjoyed a dream start to 2024. The Black and Yellows continued their sublime run of form with a 3-0 win over SC Freiburg last week, and they will now hope to keep that run going against Wolfsburg on Saturday.

Borussia Dortmund will be without Felix Nmecha and Karim Adeyemi against Wolfsburg. But the majority of the squad is fully fit, leaving Edin Terzic with a few selection headaches ahead of Saturday's game. Here we take a look at how Borussia Dortmund could line up for their Bundesliga clash against Wolfsburg.

Gregor Kobel will line up in goal for Borussia Dortmund against Wolfsburg. He is enjoying an excellent season so far, and will hope to keep another clean sheet on Saturday.

Julian Ryerson slotted in at right-back seamlessly last week after making his long-awaited return from injury. The Norwegian international will start in that role again on Saturday, with the in-form Ian Maatsen set to feature on the opposite flank.

Niklas Süle and Nico Schlotterbeck look set to continue their partnership at centre-back. Although Mats Hummels could get a look in if Terzic decides to rest one of them ahead of Tuesday's trip to PSV Eindhoven.

Emre Can will start in defensive midfield, with Marcel Sabitzer set to partner him. The Austrian international impressed last week, and will hope to deliver another strong performance against Wolfsburg.

Julian Brandt could be in contention for a return to the starting XI after recovering from his illness. Marco Reus could also keep his spot in the team, with Jadon Sancho and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens the other alternatives for Terzic.

Donyell Malen and Niclas Füllkrug have formed a strong partnership up front since the turn of the year. And they will likely start in attack once again on Saturday.
