Borussia Dortmund could look to sell a number of first-team players this summer in order to try and fund their squad overhaul.

Things have certainly not gone according to plan for Borussia Dortmund this season in the Bundesliga. The Black and Yellows are locked in a fight to finish in the top four, and must overcome a gruelling fixture list if they want to play Champions League football next season. According to BILD, those in charge at BVB could sell a number of key players in the summer to make room for new signings.

It has already been heavily reported that Donyell Malen could leave Borussia Dortmund this summer. And the tabloid adds that the likes of Emre Can, Youssoufa Moukoko, Sebastien Haller, Salih Özcan, and Ramy Bensebaini could also be headed for the exit door.

Emre Can was appointed club captain and also signed a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund last summer at the request of Edin Terzic. But if the head coach is sacked, Can's future at the club could look grim, especially with the club seemingly looking to sign a new defensive midfielder.

Youssoufa Moukoko and Sebastien Haller have found playing time hard to come by, while Ramy Bensebaini has lost his spot in the team to the on-loan Ian Maatsen after an underwhelming first half of the season. Salih Özcan could also be sold, having failed to hold down a spot in the starting XI.

In addition, Mats Hummels, Marco Reus and Marius Wolf could also leave Borussia Dortmund this summer with their contracts expiring at the end of the season.
