Sebastian Kehl has had his say on Borussia Dortmund's revamped attack, that is now led by the likes of Serhou Guirassy and Maximilian Beier.

Borussia Dortmund made big changes to their attack during the recently concluded summer transfer window, parting ways with four strikers either on loan or permanently. Sebastian Kehl and co. also bolstered their attack with the signings of Serhou Guirassy and Maximilian Beier. And the BVB sporting director has now had his say on his side's newly established attacking lineup.

Sebastian Kehl comments on new-look Borussia Dortmund attack

During his appearance on Sky 90 on Sunday evening, Kehl said, "We analysed the issues well and implemented them in the end. Serhou is our clear number one striker. It's good for Youssoufa Moukoko to take this new step. It would have been difficult if he had stayed with us. It would also have been difficult for Haller. We swapped Füllkrug for Beier, which makes our team ten years younger."

Kehl also spoke about the departure of Niclas Füllkrug, who left Borussia Dortmund for West Ham United this summer following the club's decision to sign Guirassy. The 44 year old described the striker's exit as a win-win situation for everyone involved. "In the end, it was a win-win situation for all sides. He would have found himself in a competitive situation (with Guirassy), which he didn't want to accept. And then he got a better opportunity in England."

One player who stayed at Borussia Dortmund despite being heavily linked with a transfer this summer is Karim Adeyemi. And Kehl is backing the talented forward to now take the next steps in his development. "I hope he will take the next step. He has set his sights high and wants to work on his efficiency. I'm glad he's in our team."

Adeyemi is in fine form at the moment, having scored seven goals in his last three appearances for Borussia Dortmund and the Germany U-21s. Guirassy, meanwhile, made his BVB debut on Friday in the Bundesliga clash against FC Heidenheim.
