Sebastian Kehl has commented on rumours linking Borussia Dortmund with moves for Serhou Guirassy and Jadon Sancho.
With the start of the January transfer window just over two weeks away, wild rumours are starting to appear. Borussia Dortmund have been linked with moves for a number of players in recent weeks, including Serhou Guirassy and Jadon Sancho.
BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl was quick to deny claims linking the club with the in-form Stuttgart striker. The 43 year old said in an interview with DAZN on Wednesday, "A lot of what has been written in the media over the last few days simply isn't true - including the story about Guirassy. There are no talks. Neither with the club nor with the player. I was very amused by this (rumour)."
It has also been reported in recent weeks that Borussia Dortmund could look to pursue a swap deal in the January transfer window that would see Donyell Malen join Manchester United and Jadon Sancho return to the Black and Yellows. But Kehl made it clear that there have been no talks about that as of yet. "So far, we haven't discussed any swap deal or expressed any interest in any player."
Signing a new left-back appears to be the top priority for Borussia Dortmund heading into the January transfer window. And Kehl stated after the game against PSG that they will look at options closely in the coming weeks in a bid to find a solution. "We will take a look at what makes sense and what economic opportunities we have to strengthen the squad again in a sensible way. That's no secret, we did the same last winter. But we will only do something if it really makes sense."
Reports have claimed that Borussia Dortmund will have less than ten million euros to spend on a new left-back in January.
