Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid will lock horns in a repeat of last season's UEFA Champions League final on Tuesday evening.

The UEFA Champions League returns on Tuesday, and current league phase leaders Borussia Dortmund will hope to continue their impressive start to the competition when they go up against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

The Spanish giants have started their Champions League campaign with one win and one draw, and will hope to get the three points on Tuesday to boost their hopes of finishing in the top eight.

Borussia Dortmund have struggled away from home in the Bundesliga this season, but a strong performance in Madrid would be a huge statement of their credentials. But the Black and Yellows will have to make do without the injured Karim Adeyemi, Julien Duranville, Yan Couto, and Gio Reyna on Tuesday. Although Pascal Groß should be able to feature despite being forced off against St. Pauli.

Serhou Guirassy will once again have a crucial role to play for Borussia Dortmund. The striker is in excellent form at the moment with 12 goals to his name in nine appearances for club and country this season.

While Real Madrid have made a slow start to the season, they always seem to find a way to win when it matters most. Two crunch matches await Carlo Ancelotti's in the space of four days with the CL clash against Borussia Dortmund set to be followed by El Clasico in La Liga.

Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior were both on target for Real Madrid against Celta Vigo on Saturday. And they will both be keen to continue that run against Borussia Dortmund. Mbappe (then at PSG) was left frustrated by BVB in the Champions Lague semifinals last season, with Julian Ryerson expertly keeping him at bay.

Jude Bellingham will be another player to watch as he goes up against his former club for the second time. Real Madrid will have to make do without the injured Dani Carvajal, David Alaba, and Brahim Diaz on Tuesday.
