Arsenal, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich were among the big clubs in the race to sign Serhou Guirassy before he agreed to join Borussia Dortmund.
Serhou Guirassy moved to Borussia Dortmund from VfB Stuttgart for a cut-price fee of around 18.5 million euros in the summer, and has already made a big impact at the club. The striker has been scoring goals for fun, having found the back of the net on 12 occasions in 10 appearances for club and country this season.
Four big clubs wanted to sign Serhou Guirassy in the summer
Borussia Dortmund faced tough competition in the race to sign Guirassy this past summer, as Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and AC Milan all wanted to sign him.
This is being reported by SportBILD, and the report adds the 28 year old was put off by Chelsea's rather wild transfer policy, while he rejected Arsenal's interest as he felt their system did not suit his playing style.
The magazine further claims that Guirassy did not join Bayern Munich as he wanted to be at a club where he could be the first-choice striker, while the idea of playing in the Italian Serie A did not attract him either.
Serhou Guirassy was Borussia Dortmund's first-choice striker target, and according to SportBILD, those in charge made the decision to sign him all the way back in April. The decision to sign him is certainly paying dividends, as he is scoring goals for fun at the moment. BVB will hope that he can continue his excellent run of form and lead the team to trophies in the coming years.
