Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi reportedly could see links to Serie A reemerge this summer as the player faces a potential sale.

Adeyemi could be put on the summer transfer list by Die Borussen as the club aims for a massive overhaul with Serhou Guirassy also potentially on the chopping block.

But just two years ago, Adeyemi was linked with a move to Serie A with Juventus and Napoli interested. The Bianconeri went with Nico Gonzalez instead while the Partenopei even had a draft agreement with Dortmund for the player, who although wasn't entirely convinced with the move following which it collapsed.

Now with the star likely on the move again, Goal reports that a move to Serie A could be back on the cards again as Adeyemi looks for regular gametime after being used sparingly by Kovac. His contract is up in 2027 and Dortmund are looking to cash in on it instead of losing him on a free transfer this summer.

For one, Adeyemi's agent Jorge Mendes has good relations with Juventus, having facilitated several transfers to the club before. With the Bianconeri once again coming up short in the Serie A title race, they could surely think of roping in a talented player like him.

Moreover, Adeyemi's asking price may have dropped from €40 million last year to €30 million now as his contract is set to expire next summer, which may further tempt his potential suitors.

According to Goal, talks of a contract renewal are on hold as the negotiations broke down due to his agent's demand to include a small release clause that Dortmund aren't happy with. But in case of an extension, Adeyemi could see his pay rising from his current €5 million per season.

Moreover, it will also see Kovac use him more regularly than before as the Croatian has kept him on the bench for much of the season, bringing him on as a substitute.

For a player of his ilk, a place in the starting XI is expected and should the Serie A clubs offer him that, Adeyemi could jump ships without a second thought.

Signed from RB Leipzig in 2022, the 24-year-old has made 143 appearances for Borussia Dortmund in all competitions while scoring 35 goals and assisting another 24.

Only a silverware is missing from his cabinet with Adeyemi coming the closest in 2024 as his side reached the Champions League finals where Real Madrid beat them 2-0.
