Two Borussia clubs lock horns on Sunday in the Bundesliga as Dortmund visit Monchengladbach for matchday 32 of the season.
While the BVB are flying after a dominant Freiburg win, their rivals from Lower Rhine are on a low ebb right now and battling to stay afloat in the top-flight.
Here are some key stats to look forward to:
Home struggles
Gladbach have endured a barrage of issues this season, one of them being their poor record at home. In fact, the side has won just four of their 15 home games in the league this season while losing five.
Dominant on the road
By contrast, Dortmund have been solid on their travels in the Bundesliga this season, winning eight from their 15 trips and losing just twice (vs Bayern and Hoffenheim). It's the joint best record by a side in the league along with Hoffenheim.
Stuck in a rut
The Foals haven't won any of their last five league games, drawing four and losing once. In fact, Gladbach have won just twice in 14 games post the winter break, lower than any side in the division besides Heidenheim (0).
Unbeaten record
Dortmund are unbeaten to Gladbach in their last six clashes, winning five. It's their best run in the fixture since a run of 12 consecutive wins between August 2015 and September 2020.
Struggles in Gladbach
The BVB have lost thrice from their last six away games to Borussia Monchengladbach and won twice. Their most recent trip to Borussia Park, coming in December 2024, ended up in a 1-1 draw.
Runners-up spot beckons Dortmund
Witrh their league aspirations officially over, Borussia Dortmund are looking to achieve a second-place finish and could fulfill it should they win in Gladbach on Sunday and third-place RB Leipzig fail to win against Bayer Leverkusen. If that happens, the BVB would make their best finish to a league season since 2022-23 season.
Robust defense, toothless attack
Speaking of robust defense, Dortmund currently boast the best in the Bundesliga as they have conceded only 31 times from as many games. Even champions Bayern have shipped in one more from the same amount of games.
Now onto the toothless attack, Gladbach have bagged only 36 goals in 31 league games, which is the least in the division barring four teams. They have also failed to score in 11 top-flight matches, an unwanted record shared with bottom side Heidenheim.
2000th Bundesliga game
After playing their 1000th home league game last weekend, Dortmund are gearing up to commemorate another miletone, that is completing 2000 matches in the Bundesliga. Only Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen have played more games.
The visit to Borussia Park will also be their 1000th away match in the competition.
