A declining Borussia Dortmund face Union Berlin in the Bundesliga tomorrow, aiming to arrest their downward spiral after back-to-back winless games.

Since returning from the international break, the BVB's bubble has been burst, first witnessing a late collapse against Werder Bremen in their 2-2 draw before a 1-0 loss to Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The air of invincibility which the side had about itself earlier on, is now punctured with Dortmund falling flat on their face with underwhelming displays in their last two matches in a row now.

They remain tied with Freiburg on points with 13 each but dropped to second on account of a poorer goal-difference to Die Kraichgauer.

As for Union Berlin, the side are third from bottom in the league table after winning just once from their opening five games of the league season.

However, it's worth noting that the solitary win came last weekend against promoted side Elversberg as Livan Burcu's 81st-minute strike earned them all three points for the first time this season.

Dortmund are without summer signing Justin Lerma as the Ecuadorian recovers from a muscle problem while Emre Can and Giannis Konstantelias remain long-term injuries. But in a major boost for them, Nico Schlotterbeck is set for a return after being rested from their Norway visit.

Union Berlin vs Borussia Dortmund Prediction

Although their recent meltdowns are hard to ignore, Dortmund boast a terrific head-to-head record against Union Berlin, winning 12 of their 16 clashes, including their last three in a row without conceding once. This should give them some much-needed confidence to face the struggling Iron Ones tomorrow and perhaps, come away with a vital win that restores their confidence.
