Borussia Dortmund have another potential star on their hands in Samuele Inacio, who is billed as the internal successor to Julian Brandt after the star departs this summer.

The 18-year-old broke into the senior team earlier this year after flashes of brilliance with the reserve team before making his first start against Eintracht Frankfurt on the penultimate matchday.

Inacio marked the occasion with a goal too, becoming one of their youngest ever scorers in the competition as well as one of the youngest Italians to get on the mark in the Bundesliga.

But where does he rank in the history of Dortmund's youngest scorers? Well, Inacio doesn't feature even in the top 10 with everyone on the list being younger than 18.

The Italian was 18 years, one month and six days old when he was on target against Frankfurt on 8 May. Nevertheless, his true potential was seen that day.

Here are the five youngest players to ever score for the BVB:

5) Tom Rothe

Joining from St. Pauli in 2021, Tom Rothe made his senior debut for the BVB in April next year against VfL Wolfsburg and scored in a thumping 6-1 win. He was only 17 years, five months and 18 days old. And mind you, Rother was only a defender.

4) Giovanni Reyna

Dortmund have become a hub of young American talents in recent times, with Giovanni Reyna included. His first goal for the BVB came in a DFB-Pokal game against Werder Bremen on 4 February 2020 when Reyna was 17 years, two months and 22 days old. Unfortunately for him, the occasion was ruined by Die Wolfe, who prevailed 3-2 in the fixture.

3) Nuri Sahin

A legend of the club, Nuri Sahin graduated from Dortmund's youth academy and broke into their senior team in August 2005, becoming the then-youngest player to ever debut in the Bundesliga. A few months later, he also became the then-youngest scorer for the side with a goal in their 2-1 league win over Nurnberg.

2) Jude Bellingham

Nuri Sahin's record for the youngest ever Dortmund scorer was surpassed by Jude Bellingham on 14 September 2020, just over 15 years later. Like Reyna, Bellingham's goal too came in the DFB-Pokal Cup, at 17 years, two months and 16 days.

1) Youssoufa Moukoko

Another three months later, Bellingham's own record was claimed by another young gun, Youssoufa Moukoko. After breaking Sahin's record for the youngest appearance-maker with his debut in November 2020, he later became Dortmund's youngest scorer too with a goal against Union Berlin in the Bundesliga on 18 December 2020, but his moment was ruined when Marvin Friedrich netted the winner for Berlin, 18 minutes later.
