Now back at Porto, Pereira is a wanted man across Europe. While a move in the summer transfer window failed to materialise, his talent and high potential means that one or the other top team will snap him up sooner rather than later.
Pereira is a versatile full-back who can play as a right-back and a left-back. The 23-year old has the potential to develop into one of world’s best full-backs. The Portuguese international is known for his attacking prowess but is also a very solid defender. He is a typical modern day full-back and has what it takes to succeed.
And with Lukasz Piszczek and Marcel Schmelzer not getting any younger, having a full-back with potential to be world class will give Dortmund a chance to replace them even before they leave.
