Form Guide

Borussia Dortmund:

Last 5 matches: WWDLW

Last match: Dortmund 5-0 Köln

Analysis: The sun rises in the morning, the birds are chirping and yet again Dortmund continues to smash the opposition in ball possession. They had 73% of ball possession last Sunday against Köln. After 2 lackluster matches, Der BVB finally managed to pick up a win. Dortmund’s goalscorer was Aubameyang (2), Philipp (2), and Sokratis (1). Also once again Dortmund’s defense wasn’t needed at all and was mostly seen playing in the midfield.

Hamburger SV:

Last 4 matches: WWWLL

Last Match: Hamburger 0-2 Hannover 96

Analysis: Hamburg got smashed by second placed team Hannover 96 last time around. Even though they fought hard on the possession, Hamburg just couldn’t get penetrate the opposition. Hannover were determined to pick up a win last week and that’s exactly what they did.

Opposition star man

Newly transferred, German striker, Andre Hahn is currently the one player who could cause problems to the away side. The former Monchengladbach striker has been playing decent football at Hamburg. Dortmund must have their defense ready to deal with this man.

Matchup History

Borussia Dortmund and Hamburg SV have met up 100 in their history. Both teams are currently tied with 34 wins each. Matches between the two clubs have seen 358 goals scored, the most in Bundesliga.

Possible lineups

Dortmund 4-3-3

Bürki – Piszczek (c), Toprak, Subotic, Zagadou – Weigl, Dahoud, Kagawa – Pulisic, Aubameyang, Schurrle

Peter Bosz’ men picked up a very convincing win but are still struggling with injuries. The schedule is getting tight and having a fully fit side shouldn’t be a big issue for Dortmund. We could see a couple of new faces make their debut this Wednesday. Starting with the injury-plagued defense, we could see Neven Subotic make his debut today replacing a tired Sokratis. Regarding injuries, we could see Spanish defender Marc Bartra and German Jeremy Toljan take a rest. In addition to those two, Guerreiro, Schmelzer and Dürm are still out. Next, on the midfield, Julian Weigl will finally start once again after seeing some playing time last week. Besides him, we will see him with Dahoud and Kagawa. Lastly, on the strikers, the dynamic duo of Aubameyang and Pulisic will start once again with André Schürrle who is coming back from an injury.

Final Prediction
