5 reasons why Borussia Dortmund can beat Real Madrid
3. Dortmund’s Strong Form
It says something about a team when the worst part of their season is letting in a goal to end their clean sheet streak at 5 games. For a team that is largely known for its offensive firepower, lasting over 500 minutes without conceding a goal is very impressive.
However keeping Madrid from scoring will be Dortmund’s greatest task yet. Omer Toprak has been phenomenal in Marc Bartra’s absence and will most likely get the start come Tuesday alongside Sokratis. The two of them will need to do a better job keeping the Madrid front line quiet.

On the other side of the field, the Black and Yellows have been nothing short of world class. Maxi Philipp and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were scoring for fun against Gladbach. Not to mention Andriy Yarmolenko, who did not feature in that match but has possibly been Dortmund’s greatest attacking weapon so far this year. He has the entire Dortmund faithful rightfully saying, “Dembélé who?” The Ukrainian has been brilliant, and Dortmund will need him to continue to be if they want the three points on Tuesday.
Peter Bosz’ side have scored 14 goals in their last 3 games. They will need more of the same against Madrid on Tuesday.
