Neven Subotic (Joined 2008)
After Jurgen Klopp had finished his last season with Mainz 05, he had took an offer to coach for Borussia Dortmund. Klopp also took Neven Subotic with him to BVB for a fee of 4.50 million euros.
In his peak, Subotic formed one of Europe’s best defensive partnerships with Mats Hummels. The duo helped Dortmund win two league titles and reach the Champions League final in 2013.
However after Hummels’ departure his play time for BVB came to a halt in 2016. The 2 time Bundesliga champion fell out of favor with Thomas Tuchel in the 2016-17 season. He was loaned to FC Koln for the second part of that season. As of this writing, the defender hasn’t played a game all season.
