Three things Peter Bosz needs to do against Hannover 96
Peter Bosz has his hands full at the moment despite a win in the Pokal against Magdeburg. The 0-5 rout midweek was misleading, to say the least when it comes to the actual quality in the squad. Things, however, can get interesting considering the tie against Bayern next week. Bayern struggled against last year’s surprise RB Leipzig in the Pokal as the Bavarians were held for a draw and needed to win on penalties. With that being said, here are three things Peter Bosz can do to make the most of his fixture against Hannover!
1. Figure out his best 11:
It may not be true but to me, it appears like Bosz is yet to find his best possible line-up. With a shallow squad at his disposal, Bosz has failed to find a cohesive unit that will implement his tactics to perfection. While we know that Bosz likes to hold on to the ball unlike his predecessors, he will have his work cut out if he cannot pinpoint those that understand his system.
While some of the names are predetermined on the teamsheet, a centreback pairing is yet to take shape in the heart of BVB’s defence. Neither Sokratis nor Toprek has been particularly impressive which creates confusion. Even the full-backs have lacked chemistry due to injuries in stark contrast to the rather steady attack upfront.
Time is running out and Bosz needs to act fast.
2. Take some risks in midfield:
Castro was indeed the game-changer against Magdeburg and giving him a more consistent run in the team could be worth it. On a contrary note, the likes of Weigl and Gotze are the future of BVB and should be incorporated as frequently as possible.

This choice is rather tough and it is up to Bosz to find out what kind of a midfield does he want. Rest assured, Playing Sahin and Castro together may be efficient but it won’t be pretty.
3. Come away with 3 points:
This is probably a basic objective everytime BVB step onto the field but with Bosz at the helm, things have looked rather pale in these past few weeks. All the enthusiasm at the club has been wiped away with the horrible display in the Champions League.
Winning against some lowly side is not going to swing the general opinion and it shouldn’t. Winning the league should always be BVB’s first priority and a solid performance against Hannover will give Die Borussen just enough of a spring in their step to take on the mighty Bayern next week.
