After a nightmarish October which saw them win only one game, Borussia Dortmund will be hoping that November brings better things for the club.

Peter Bosz’ side will play five times in November, with the international break sandwiched between the games. Borussia Dortmund’s first game of the month sees them host Apoel Nicosia in the UEFA Champions League. However, with both teams unlikely to make it through to the next round, this match will be contested for the third place in the group, which will guarantee a Europa League round of 32 spot.

Then comes the big one! Der BVB host Bayern Munich in the Der Klassiker at the Signal Iduna Park. After a win-less October in the league, Borussia Dortmund have seen Bayern Munich establish a three point lead at the top of the Bundesliga. And the under pressure Black and Yellows will be hoping to make that gap back up straight away. Dortmund have failed to win any of their “big games” so far this season. And the Bayern fixture is a must-win for them if they are to challenge for the title this season.

Following the Bayern game, the players will head for international duty as club football takes a two week break. Borussia Dortmund return to action on the 13th of November as they travel to newly promoted side VFB Stuttgart. They lie 12th in the table currently, but could prove to be a tricky test for Dortmund, just like Hannover did last weekend.

Dortmund then host what could be their final home game in this season’s UEFA Champions League when they take on Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs won the first meeting between the two sides 3-1. And Dortmund fans will be hoping that their players can exact revenge, even if it won’t help them qualify for the knockouts.

Borussia Dortmund’s final game of the month sees them take on local rivals Schalke 04. The Revierderby promises to be an entertaining affair, especially with both teams close to each other in the Bundesliga standings.

November could prove to be a make-or-break month for Dortmund with important games coming up. And Der BVB will be hoping that they are in a better position than they are now, come the end of November.
