Form Guide
Borussia Dortmund:
Last 5 matches: WLDLL
Last match: Borussia Dortmund 1-2 VFB Stuttgart
Analysis: Dortmund are currently in a free fall–the team is struggling under Peter Bosz. The Dutch manager refuses to change his tactics that is affecting the team big time. Such struggles were shown last Friday against Stuttgart. In a game that was supposed to be easier for Dortmund, Stuttgart managed to come away with 3 points at home. It just seems as if Dortmund has lost its mojo. BVB had a rough start, they conceded early on, in the first 10 minutes of playing time, due to some miscommunication between Bartra and Bürki. Dortmund got awarded a penalty kick right before halftime. Schurrle took it, missed it and Max Philipp scored on the rebound. Quickly into the second half, Dortmund conceded once again in the 51st minute. From then onwards, Stuttgart fell back and put on a defensive master-class.
Tottenham Hotspur:
Last 5 matches: LLWWL
Last Match: Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 Arsenal
Analysis: Tottenham had a nightmare of a game this past Saturday against rivals, Arsenal in the North London Derby. The Hotspur’s tactics were severely overwhelmed by Arsene Wenger’s side. The Spurs conceded 2 goals in the first half to Arsenal making the game almost unreachable in the second half. Even though they dominated possession in the second half with clear intentions to score, they simply couldn’t score past Cech.

Opposition star man
Englishman Harry Kane remains Tottenham’s most dangerous player. Kane has been smashing it this season, scoring 13 goals in 15 games including 5 in the Champions League. He will now face a struggling Dortmund defence that seems to concede goals to almost anyone. If Dortmund doesn’t have a plan for Harry Kane, us Dortmund fans can only pray that we score more goals.
Matchup History
Dortmund and Tottenham have played only 3 times before with Dortmund winning 2 of those games. On the last encounter a few months ago, Tottenham dominated Dortmund winning 3-1 at Wembley.
Transfer History
Between both of these teams, a couple of transfers have occurred. The first one is former German defensive midfielder, Steffen Freund. He was a key member of Dortmund’s Champions League winning squad in 1996. Freund played over 161 games for Dortmund before getting transferred to Tottenham. There, he played a little over a100 games. Finally, the other notable transfer is of Ghanian midfielder Kevin Prince-Boateng. He joined Dortmund in 2008 on loan from Tottenham.
