3) Bosz and Watzke get another excuse

There is so much wrong with what Peter Bosz does, yet he still rarely receives any criticism from the upper management. Watzke continues to support Bosz even after dreadfully crashing out of the Champions League and embarrassing themselves repeatedly in Germany. His high line has not worked in months and his refusal to not change formations until recently has cost Dortmund dearly.

Not to mention the second half collapse to Schalke demonstrated the severe lack of mental strength this team now has. Confidence is at an all time low for many reasons and this surely stems from the manager.

Watzke does not want to fire Bosz because of his pride. If Watzke can continue to come up with reasons to keep Bosz on board, he will at all costs. Another high profile injury to the squad will allow the CEO to use that as a scapegoat for the continued lack of success that is surely to come. It is only a matter of time before we hear Watzke telling us all, “Once the team is fully fit for the Rückrunde, Dortmund will regain their top form.” Injuries can only be the blame for so long. Dortmund need to start performing up to their capabilities, and to do this, Peter Bosz can no longer be the man in charge. It is time to move forward.
