The Hive: Who should replace Peter Bosz at Borussia Dortmund?
Tushar Bahl
Peter Bosz looks well out of his depth at the moment and despite the club’s decision to stick with him, his sacking seems to be a matter of “when” and not “if”. When the board decides to finally relieve Bosz off his duties, I would like to see them have a go for Marco Silva. The Portuguese manager has done wonders since his arrival in the English Premier League. Many wrote him off when he was announced as Hull City manager last season. But he nearly kept their woeful team up before moving to Watford. And after only 13 league games, he has done such a good job at the club, that Everton is prepared to pay 10 million pounds for him.

Silva has even earned comparisons with Jose Mourinho. The 40-year old knows how to fill his players with energy, get the best out of them and motivate them to perform and beat the odds and be fearless. He knows how to build a team and his talents would be well suited to Dortmund. So far, Silva has already led Watford to a draw against Liverpool and a win against Arsenal this season. While Borussia Dortmund is unlikely to go after him, I believe he is exactly the man who can get them to the top once again.
Another manager who Dortmund should consider is Hannes Wolf. He has done wonders with Stuttgart, and that was evident just last week as Stuttgart comfortably beat Borussia Dortmund. The 36-year old also has Dortmund connections. He has managed Borussia Dortmund II, Borussia Dortmund U-19s as well as the U17s. In fact, he was in charge of the U17s when Pulisic joined the club. He was the one who helped Pulisic become a star.
Wolf cites Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel as his influences and unlike Bosz, he is likely to adapt his tactics to the game and the opponent, even if it means being pragmatic.
And Borussia Dortmund could do with someone like him to get them back into the title race.
