Borussia Dortmund suffered yet another embarrassing defeat, as second bottom Werder Bremen won 2-1 at the Westfalenstadion.

Borussia Dortmund were happless, toothless and lethargic as Bremen won comfortably despite the close scoreline. Many fans decided to leave early after seeing another disastrous display from Peter Bosz’ side. And those who remained made their feelings clear with loud boos and whistles.

Here are the player ratings from what was another abject display by Borussia Dortmund.

Roman Burki (6/10)

Once again, made a couple of brilliant saves and was happless for both the goals. The players in front of him did not help out at all.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos (5/10)

Another disappointing performance from a player who used to be a rock at the back under Thomas Tuchel. However he did made some important interceptions. Saying that he wasn’t happy towards the end of the game would be an understatement.

Neven Subotic (4/10)

After being frozen out of the team at the start of the season, it seems like Subotic is suddenly the first choice centre back. He simply cannot play three games a week though. And that was visible as he made a lot of mistakes against Bremen. Subotic was also responsible for their second goal.

Marcel Schmelzer (5/10)

While he was visibly angry and brutally honest at the end of the game, his performance was not one of a club captain. He was culpable defensively once again. However he played a very important part in Dortmund’s equaliser.

Marc Bartra (4/10)

The Spaniard is simply not a right back, yet Peter Bosz is determined to play him there every week. If being toyed with by Cristiano Ronaldo on Wednesday was not enough, hopefully this performance will finally convince Bosz not to play Bartra there anymore.

Mahmoud Dahoud (4/10)

There were high expectations of him ahead of the game, but Dahoud failed to perform against Bremen. Just like the rest of his teammates, Dahoud was simply not good enough. Too many of his passes went astray and he was inconsistent throughout the game.

Raphael Guerreiro (4/10)

Guerreiro had made a fantastic return from injury. But lately it seems that he too is struggling under Peter Bosz. Failed to get involved in the game at all and was rightly substituted at half time.

Shinji Kagawa (5/10)

Failed to get in the game as he did against Real Madrid. While he did get an assist, he failed to provide a real spark. Had a good chance to make it 2-2 later on but it somehow didn’t go in.

Christian Pulisic (5/10)

Another performance with a whole lot of effort but to very little effect from Pulisic. The 19-year old has a whole lot of pressure on his shoulders, and it seems like it’s getting to him.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang (5/10)

Was anonymous for most of the game. His second half equaliser will likely be given as an own goal. Somehow prevented Kagawa from scoring as he blocked Kagawa’s goal-bound effort on the goal line.

Andriy Yarmolenko (4/10)

Did not get involved in the game too often, and when he did he was poor. Yarmolenko has been very inconsistent and frustrating since his arrival at Borussia Dortmund and he showed that again today before getting subbed off at half time.

Substitutes

Nuri Sahin (5/10)

While Dortmund slightly improved after his introduction, Sahin failed to help them find that killer forward pass.

Andre Schurrle (5/10)

Worked harder than Yarmolenko and showed some fire after coming on at half time.

Alexander Isak (N/R)

Came on for the last ten minutes but failed to help Dortmund snatch a point.

Peter Bosz (3/10)

Looks completely bereft of ideas. It’s time for him to go.
